Looking back at end of the year

When the end of the year sneaks around, do you beat yourself that you didn’t accomplish all the resolutions that you set in January?  We have the tendency to quickly dismiss the idea that we got anything done, instead of stepping back and realizing the progress that we did make.

This week, one of my teachers led a meditation, slowly walking us through each month, and each season, of 2016.  I started remembering accomplishments, trips, occasions, and milestones that all happened over this past year.  I felt at peace, thanking the tough lessons and celebrating the happy memories.

I recommend you try this!  Grab some paper and write a few things you did or experienced during each month of 2016.  Celebrate the good times and be grateful for what the bad memories taught you.  Then let it all go, knowing that a lot happened in 2016 for you, as you enter into an even better 2017.
