Lessons I’ve learned from my Vizsla Kingston

  • You don’t always need to speak to effectively communicate with someone.
  • Don’t forget to play a little more, and worry a little less.
  • The meaning of true unconditional love and loyalty.
  • How intense a heart can feel, and how selfless I can be.
  • The importance of socialization and the reminder we are in a community of fellow beings.
  • That tears of sadness can literally be licked away.
  • How every day can be new and super exciting!! (tail wags here)
  • To stop and sniff the roses, or whatever happens to be outside for us to explore that day.
  • To rest when you are tired; don’t push through the exhaustion.
  • When another dog or person rejects your invitation for friendship, just move on to the next one, and walk forward with your life. Don’t dwell or sulk about why or what happened.
  • Finally, just be happy. That’s what is most important!

  1. Nina that is beautiful and so true. Life is better shared with another even if the other has four legs. Dogs often communicate by touch; a paw upon your knee, a nuzzle by your neck, or just sitting on your feet or tummy when laying down. But they respond best with good eye contact, clear expression of thought and a hug goes along way. Can’t imagine my world without my dog.

  2. Nina ~ I just stumbled on your blog!! Nice to know. I have been following you, Byron and Kingston on e-mail but this is better. :Looks like all three are enjoying Colorado. Our winer has bee relatively warm. Nearing 54 right now 96;00 PM 2-7. PRFEDICTING SNOW TOMORROW…HARD TOI BELIIEVE Love to hear from you any timer. Love, Grandma.

  3. All of it is so true, and I’m happy to be the one that pushed you to get a pet to love. So happy you have found the true meaning of life and love through Kingston’s eyes. Seeing the world through a child’s eyes might be next???
